October 6, 2006 -- Professional Bank Recognized as Preferred Bank for IOLTA Accounts

At its luncheon in Austin with the Supreme Court of Texas on September 28, 2006, the Texas Equal Access to Justice Foundation announced Professional Bank as one of two preferred banks in Texas offering IOLTAs (Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts).

The Texas Equal Access to Justice Foundation was created by the Supreme Court of Texas in 1984. It administers funds to provide free civil legal services for Texans who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford an attorney. The organization is committed to the vision that all Texans will have equal access to justice, regardless of their income.

As of July 1, 1989, all Texas attorneys handling qualifying client funds must establish an IOLTA account. The IOLTA program in Texas currently generates over $3 million yearly without taxing the public and at no cost to lawyers or their clients.
