Professional Bank of Texas with locations in Garland, Lakewood and the newly opened Park Cities branch was recently honored with Gold and Silver medals in the annual Best of Community Banking competition by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas.
The awards, presented during IBAT's 34th annual convention, recognized the Dallas financial institution with the prestigious Gold Eagle award for marketing, with the creation of a Women in Business organization sponsored by Professional Bank and founded by Darlene Ellison, the bank's community and business development officer.
Women in Business is a community organization that provides a peer network for executive women. Lakewood and Park Cities WIB host monthly events and great opportunities for women to share experiences, exchange strategies, mentor future members and pursue learning opportunities to achieve greater personal and professional success. Monthly socials are for member businesses and are pure networking opportunities that promote businesses doing business within their respective communities.
The bank was also awarded the 2008 IBAT Community Banking Silver Medal Award for its efforts in architectural design in creating structures that fit into the personality of the neighborhood.
"The Best of Community Banking Awards allow us to salute our members for the outstanding initiatives undertaken in their regular day's work that could go unnoticed," IBAT President and CEO Chris Wiliston said.
Locally owned and managed, Professional Bank is a full-service bank that was founded in 2004 by 47 Dallas area families as a community-based alternative to the giant, impersonal corporate banks. From the banking centers in Lakewood, Garland and Park Cities they not only work to serve North Texas communities, but to preserve them.
